Google Apps email @ your domain name
USER Setup
Once Google Apps is set up each USER MUST follow the instructions below in order to access their email.
Initially, each user may have been assigned a temporary password. Each user has the ability to modify his/her own password.
To access email:
Go to mail.YourDomainName.com
Note: Until the domain changes are complete, you go here: http://mail.google.com/a/YourDomainName.com
It could take up to 48 hours for the domain to finish propagating.
Each user has three choices:
1. To USE this email account to access this accounts email and no other.
2. To have this account forward email to another account (gmail, yahoo, aol, whatever).
3. To have this account access other email accounts via POP (for example, you can have this account access your aol, earthlink, yahoo accounts, etc.).
If #1:
To simply use this account: Log in at mail.YourDomainName.com
with your username and password.
If#2:
Log in at mail.YourDomainName.com
with your username and password.
Go to Settings > Forwarding & POP/IMAP >
Check the button that says: Forward a copy of incoming mail to ... and fill in the rest as they desire.
If #3:
The user can set it up so that this account will check any POP email account:
(The point of this is to prevent the loss of emails sent to your "old" account by people who have your old address in their address book.)
To do so, you must first Log in at mail.YourDomainName.com
with your username and password
Go to
Settings > Forwarding & POP/IMAP >
Then, enable POP.
Then click the accounts tab,
then under "Get Mail from other accounts",
Click "Add another mail account" and follow the directions.
Note: If you are "Getting Mail" from a Gmail account, you must enable POP on that Gmail account.
